How to Avoid Adopt Me Trading Scams

Updated October 9, 2026 · AdoptMeter value method

Most Adopt Me scams rely on trust trades, fake value lists or swapping pets at the last second. Only use the in-game trade window and check both sides before you accept.

Check current numbers for any pet on the Adopt Me pet values list.

Trust trades

Never give first and wait for the other player to give back. The game cannot return pets lost this way.

Fake values

Scammers claim a pet is worth more than it is. Check the value list yourself before you agree.

Last-second swaps

Watch the trade window on the final confirm screen. Players sometimes swap a Neon for a regular pet at the end.

Fake giveaways and links

Free pet links outside the game are almost always scams that steal accounts.

Never share your password or log in through a link a player sends you.

What to do if you get scammed

Report the player in game and through Roblox.

Turn on trade license safety settings so only friends can trade with you.
